Jenny Woods considers Camellia her second home and brings a bright smile and a “can-do” attitude to the school. She brings with her a great deal of nonprofit experience that includes fundraising, grant writing, and event planning. She’s also well-versed in the ever-changing world of social media and marketing. A Sacramento native, Jenny has an associate's degree in social science from Sacramento City College and formally studied early childhood education and women’s studies at California State University Sacramento. Jenny loves being a mom to three boys and when not at Camellia or with her family, she is a maker, loving to paint, draw, sew, garden, and read.
Jenny has been a Camellia parent since 2010 and is also an alumni parent of two. She began working with Camellia in 2015 and joined the administrative staff in 2019

Celina Deitchman
Administrative Coordinator & Extended Care Supervisor
Celina Deitchman received her BA in Performing Arts & Social Justice from the University of San Francisco. She has an eclectic array of experience as an educator that spans over ten years. Before taking a break from the professional world to be a full-time mom, Celina was a Summer Program Director for a STEM summer camp in the Bay Area. She also has experience teaching theater, cooking and various roles in the school and camp settings as well as aboard a tall ship.
Celina enjoys cooking and exploring the outdoors with her family. She also loves to dance and attend live performances of all varieties.

Janna Nygren has a bachelor’s degree in American studies from the University of Hawaii Manoa and has formally studied early childhood education. She has more than 22 years of experience working with children of all ages and has been a preschool teacher, special education classroom aide, and mentoring program coordinator. Janna has also worked with non-profit organizations as a program coordinator and grant writer. Her passion for working with children paired with her administrative skills have made her well-suited to the many responsibilities of her position at Camellia.
Janna joined the admin team in 2016 and is an alumni parent of two children.

Basira Borer
Student Accounts & Advancement Coordinator
Basira Borer loves her time at Camellia and is thrilled to work with the administrative team, sharing her many talents and skills. Basira brings with her years of property management, a wealth of administrative experience, event planning, and strong organizational skills. Her kind nature, attention to detail, and deep love of Camellia make her an enthusiastic team member, ready to do whatever is needed to make Camellia shine. Basira works directly with our Admissions and Advancement Manager, Jenny Woods, overseeing Student Accounts, and supporting admissions and fundraising efforts.
Basira is a current Camellia parent and joined the Camellia staff in 2022.

John Garcia
Custodian & Groundskeeper
With over 40 years of custodial and maintenance experience, John brings exceptional skill and care to maintaining our campus. His attention to detail and organization ensure that Camellia’s classrooms, grounds and community spaces are clean, orderly and welcoming for all.
Before joining Camellia, John served as a porter at Sacramento Waldorf School and as head custodian and maintenance lead at Jesuit High School and within the San Juan Unified School District. His deep familiarity with school environments, especially with Waldorf education experience, makes him the perfect person to lovingly tend to our campus.
John’s commitment and craftsmanship reflect the heart of Camellia: a special place where care, beauty and community shine through in every detail.

Amani Hill
Administrative Assistant
With a strong background in administrative support, human resources, customer service and records management, Amani brings exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Currently pursuing an Associate's degree in Business Administration, Amani is excited to bring her administrative skills, collaborative spirit and dedication to service to the Camellia community.
As one of the first faces you'll see when you walk through the front office doors, Amani looks forward to warmly welcoming and assisting students, families and visitors each day.

Jazmin Hernandez
Administrative Assistant
Jazmin is excited to return to Camellia — her connection to our school spans decades. Jazmin attended Camellia as a child and her older sister was a member of Camellia's first graduating eighth-grade class in 1999!
With more than five years of experience in administrative support, project coordination, marketing and operations, Jazmin brings exceptional organizational skills, a collaborative spirit and a talent for building strong relationships. Jazmin's background includes executive support, donor management, communications and process improvement across nonprofit and business settings.
